RM of Hoodoo’s story
The Rural Municipality of Hoodoo No. 401 was incorporated as a rural municipality on January 1, 1913. It lies in central Saskatchewan and surrounds the towns of Wakaw and Cudworth, as well as the resort village of Wakaw Lake.
Within the RM are the organized hamlets of Balone Beach and Cudsaskwa Beach, along with a number of localities, including Berard Beach, Bonne Madone, Domremy Beach, Ens, Lepine, Nelson Beach and Nickorick Beach.
Today the RM is known for its lakeside setting and its heritage sites. Wakaw Lake and Wakaw Lake Regional Park draw visitors, and two museums, the Wakaw Heritage Museum and the Prud'homme Providence Museum, are among its attractions. The municipal office is in Cudworth, and the council is led by a reeve and an appointed administrator.
